Which ICC to choose

Hey everyone, I am looking for a check and a bit of advice. A colleague of mine is working on a study where he wants to use ICC to check for consistency in performance. In this study, 20 participants took part in a single session. They all performed five max-effort kicks into a force plate during th...

Feature reguest: Dot plots for effect sizes in models

Frequently I would prefer to have the option to draw a dot plot with error bars of effects (CI) for predictors in my (e.g., linear) models. The idea would be to draw effect sizes (like standardized betas) and their CIs below each other. On the y-axis, the predictors could be listed, and X-axis would...

Re: Sensitivity analysis for LMM

Update:

so far I came across the simr R package that seems to do the job of listing observed power and allowing for simulations (extending sample with simulated data along or within chosen variable) and drawing power curves.

Sensitivity analysis for LMM

Hi all, I am looking for help. We received reviews for an article where we ran LMMs. The weakness of the study was a small sample, N=21 participants. We ran rather simple LMMs with a (continuous) rating of stimuli as a dependent variable, two continuous predictors as covariates, and stimuli and rate...

mean weighted correlation coefficients in Major modul

Hi all, In a recent review of my meta-analysis manuscript, Ref2 suggested we should report and compute mean weighted correlation coefficients (r-bar: Hedges & Olkin, 1985; Lipsey & Wilson, 2001). Currently, I am using REML with Fisher's r-to-z transformation. Does the MAJOR module have an op...

Feature request: Other effects for mean differences

Hi, Would it be possible to add other effect sizes (Hedge's g, Glass's Delta) to choose from in mean comparisons tests? Cohen's d is fine, but when working with smaller samples or with unequal variance, Hedge's g would be nice to have. Also, H's g is the effect size the Major module works as SMD. So...

Re: Comparing three means - two from samples, one from norm

Hey reason180,
I was thinking about this too. But, I am not comparing against a point estimate of only 35; the mean score is 35 with a known SD of 5. So it is more comparing against the distribution of values than a single point.

Re: Comparing two effect sizes

Hey Reason180,
Thanks for your reply and suggestion to use a one-sample t-test comparing against 0.

Usually, there are more ways to answer one question. Would you think the solution I outlined is less optimal than yours or a different approach that should ultimately yield overlapping answers?

Comparing three means - two from samples, one from norm

Hi, I am looking for a solution how to compare three means in jamovi. We plan to collect two samples of people in a study we run and have them perform a standardized test. Mean scores from the standardized test may differ in the two samples, but apart from this comparison, I want to compare the two ...

Re: Comparing two effect sizes

This post has evolved into a sort of my personal log on how to solve the question at hand - compare two effect sizes. It may come useful to someone else... In my last efforts, I planned on using meta-analytical approaches for the comparison. I would have compared the two effect sizes using Cochran's...
