unable to use a factor in linear regression

I'm receiving an error message: "contrasts can be applied only to factors with 2 or more levels" However, I'm using a factor that has 2 levels, and I verified that there are several observations in each. Unfortunately, this is with proprietary data for consulting work, so I can't share the...

Re: Could "continuous" be replaced with another word?

At least by the definition in Gravetter and Wallnau, it's ratio because it has a true 0 point (no one answers less than 0 pregnancies), and you can interpret ratios from two scores ( a person with 6 pregnancies had twice as many as a person with 3 pregnancies). I'm starting to wonder if some textboo...

Could "continuous" be replaced with another word?

I love teaching with Jamovi...except for the part where I have to explain scales of measurement. The textbook that I use, like many, lists scales of measurement as nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio. Jamovi lumps interval and ratio together into a single category, which in and of itself is totally...

[SOLVED] "no loop for break/next" and "title must be a strin

I'm teaching with Jamovi, and 2 students independently reported a "no loop for break/next" error. One of the output screens also includes a "title must be a string" error. I've tried to independently replicate these errors with the same dataset, but haven't been able to do so (I ...

Re: Compute new variables

Thanks for the estimate! That's enough to help me plan the semester.

Re: Compute new variables

Do you have any sense of when a "compute new variable" function will be available? I ask because I plan on teaching with Jamovi starting in a couple of weeks. I'd like for my students to be able to compute z-scores, either automatically, or by manually entering a simple equation.
