I have uninstalled RStudio and re-installed, but I am still having trouble. I'm not sure if I should attempt to use an earlier version of the jmv package?

No, I hadn't.
I have looked into it a little further and it seems to be occurring when using linReg() and specifically the blocks argument, regardless of the data set.
