I'm sure you get complaints on all sides, but thought I would advocate for tightening/returning the restrictions around calculating with numbers from nominal variables. It is confusing to create means, show histograms, allow them as regression DVs, etc.

The Import feature is great and I get why it is called Import. However, in similar software, Import typically means "open a file that is in another format".

Consequently, I keep seeing students use Import when trying to open an SPSS file, for example. They don't seem to pick up on the distinction ...

Use case:
- Ordinal data as text in Excel/csv (e.g., "Strongly Agree", "Agree", etc).
- Imported into Jamovi as Text
- Want to calculate mean (or do other numeric things like "greater than" to get all Agree's)
