mixed models analyses within GAMLj
Hi, I have two questions regarding mixed models and generalized mixed models analyses within GAMLj: 1. The fixed effects estimates are unstandardized or standardized betas? 2. When the model converges and we did not get singular fit warnings, should we still simplify the model (or try other remedie...

Re: Feature request: custom contrasts in GAMLj
Hi Marcello,
The fixed effects estimates in LMMs and GLMMS analyses are unstandardized or standardized betas?
Thanks!

Re: Feature request: custom contrasts in GAMLj
One more question: when running an analysis, the program "searches" for the best optimizers, right? In other words, the lack of convergence cannot be attributed to the use of a unique optimizer (e.g., bobyqa)?

Feature request: custom contrasts in GAMLj
Hi Marcelo,
Do you have any plans to add custom contrasts to the GAMLj module, particularly to mixed models and generalized mixed models?
Thanks.

Re: Repeated measures ANOVA and GAMLj
Hi Marcello,
Now i got it! Thanks a lot for the clarifications! I was indeed confusing random effects and clustering variables.
Best,
Tomás

Re: Repeated measures ANOVA and GAMLj
Can you share that mixed effects analysis with me?

Re: Repeated measures ANOVA and GAMLj
Hi,
Thanks for the clarification!
One question regarding the mixed model: why are race and typicality random and not fixed effect? I would put them as fixed factor and then subjects and face stimuli as random factor, no?
Best,
Tomás

Repeated measures ANOVA and GAMLj
Sorry if this question has already been asked: I analyzed my data using a 2X2 repeated measures ANOVA and then did the same thing using a General Linear Model on the (excellent) GAMLj module. Surprisingly, results were very different: on the repeated measures ANOVA I got 1 sig. main effect and a sig...
