Re: Pearson's Correlation
I'm not quite clear on what you mean by replicates ? Correlations will only be performed when participants have a pair of scores. Anyone not meeting this criteria is automatically excluded from the analysis. If you are asking if the variables themselves have different lengths (e.g. they are composed...

Re: File won´t open??
We've had similar issues at my University. The problem is because Windows (I assume you are on Windows?) doesn't know to associate the jamovi program with opening the *.omv file types. Sometimes other programs are often used - mostly Winzip in my experience. So the problem is that Winzip is being in...

Yes - these would be the dependent variables that you would perform your analyses on

Re: Analysing Likert Point Data
Apologies - I didn't explain that part well. You can choose to have jamovi create the summed total of your questionnaire for each person, and also create the mean of all those items (the mean scale) per person. From a statistical point of view there is no real advantage in choosing one or the other,...

Re: jamovi curriculum at Pre-PhD Course Work at University
How is each unit taught? In one go or over several, discrete sessions? My main thought is there is an awful lot of content squeezed into each unit - particularly for students that may be unlikely to have used statistics in their previous undergraduate degree...

Re: Analysing Likert Point Data
Changing the type of data from ordinal to continuous in jamovi itself wouldn't do that much really - you'll probably find that you can still run the various types of analyses mentioned above. What I meant was more your reasoning behind this - you might wish to state in your dissertation that you &qu...

Re: Analysing Likert Point Data
As has been commented on, questionnaire/self-report data from likert scales (i.e. ordinal) is often treated as continuous data when analysing the summed scores, thus availing itself to a wider range of analyses (including, possibly, linear regression that your supervisor may originally had in mind?)...

Re: Test of Normality suddenly not significant?
This is because you ran a Shapiro-Wilk on both variables. A paired t-test is specifically interested in the difference in each pair of scores , and so the singular (non-significant) Shapiro-Wilk is actually testing the distribution of these differences - which is an assumption of this particular pai...

Re: Calculating Total Score
Not quite sure as to the specifics of your question - this probably depends on how you data file is set up. Do you have a single variable/column listing the number of personal traumas per participant, or do you have multiple columns each listing a different type of personal trauma and you wish to ad...

Re: Export .omv file from Jamovi on a Mac
You may find that the issue is to do with the settings of the submission portal. At my University we can permit ANY file type to be uploaded, or those of a specific format e.g. *.docx, *.pdf etc...etc... If the latter, then this may be preventing the *.omv file from being registered as a valid uploa...
