Sugg: Jive terms in Jamovi with Terms in Jamovi book

Post by ANAwol »

Hello Jonathon

again, I can't stop thanking you and the team for Jamovi as a way to get students away from SPSS and a gateway to R at some point.

I was just wanting to bring to your attention, in the SETUP part of the variables in Jamovi, all quantitative variables are referred to as "continuous" in the measure type and then in data type you have the decimal ,integer, text.

In the Jamovi book (which I like and agree with the way it is presented) , it is correctly stated that the type is categorical or numerical , and then there is the sub on interval/ratio and discrete /continuous. Hence, I would suggest (as it has confused several students) that maybe in "measure", your options are set to Jive with the book? in some instances students just learning are at a loss when trying to find discrete. I know and I do tell them that when you think of "integer" then you can see that you are looking at discrete, etc.

Just a thought and maybe an easy fix.
Cheers
