Hi,
When someone is trying to input decimal data into a column which is labeled "integer", jamovi prevents it.
Is it possible that the "integer" label automatically adapts to "decimal" in this situation?
Have a nice day
Integer vs decimal - automatic switching
Re: Integer vs decimal - automatic switching
it depends ... so if it's a new blank column, it will automatically convert from integer to decimal as the person types the values in.
however, if the column has come from a data file, or the user has manually changed it to 'integer', then we assume that the person entering a decimal has made a typo, or hasn't understood that the person who set up the data file intended it to only accept integers.
i don't think there's a perfect behaviour here, but i think what we've got is pretty reasonable.
cheers
