Server Version of Jamovi?

Post by homerhanumat »

How difficult would it be to write a Linux-based server version of Jamovi (i.e., related to Jamovi as R Studio Server is to R Studio Desktop)? For lower-level undergraduate classes we find it useful for students not to have to deal with installation and package-management issues, so we use R Studio Server. On a Jamovi Server one could also provide a uniform collection of datasets, I imagine.

Fantastic! We've got a Linux box with a terabyte of RAM for really big and/or complex models, so that would be really helpful.

Any progress on a server version? With the advent of the Rj editor a server version for classroom use looks more appealing than ever.

hey,

not a lot of progress to report, but do drop us a line at contact at jamovi.org if you'd be interested in participating in a beta program for that sort of thing.

(incidentally, Rj probably won't be supported in the near term on a server install. arbitrary R code requires much more complicated sandboxing [security] than a set of curated analyses).

cheers
