Bonferroni Correction for correlation

Post by Claire1998 »

Hi there,
is there a way to change the alpha level for correlation or linear regression to apply a Bonferroni correction?

Thanks so much

Hi Claire,
The alpha level is just a figure used to denote the cut-off point for significance. Unless I'm mistaking what you are asking, it wouldn't matter what you changed this cut-off to as jamovi simply produces the p-values for each analysis - you would simply decide whether these are significant or not. If you mean the use of the * system to flag significance, couldn't you just add this into the table yourself if using this in Word/powerpoint etc...

Bonferroni (and other corrections) are not typically applied to correlations or regression coefficients. If you really, really wanted to do this in the case of Bonferroni you would need to manually recalculate the p-values i.e. multiply each value by the number of analyses performed...
