When I get to the file, it says an expected error has occurred and engine process is shutting down. Any suggestions?

you can try disabling any virus checkers or security software, if that doesn't work, can you provide the error message in full?

A college has the same problem on his Windows 10 laptop. It used to work fine and suddenly jamovi can’t load datasets anymore. The datasets open fine in jamovi on other computers.

Sorry for many posts, but I need to add this. We cannot turn antivirus off because that’s the IT departments area and they will not let us do that. We’re replacing SPSS department wide starting this fall after a lot of push from me, so we need to solve this Any help is much appreciated and I’ll help anyway I can.

there's an issue with opening files in jamovi 0.9.6.4 that were created in 0.9.6.1, 2, 3
if you update to a newer version, the problem is fixed.

Hmm. Files were made and opened in same version. Uninstalling and installing again helped though. Thanks!
