Seeking general advice: to duplicate or not to duplicate existing functionality

I've created an R function for producing a particular style of editable, rich data plot. In the not-too-distant future I would to turn it into jamovi module. It could be a stand-alone module. Or in principle it could be something that somehow gets added onto jamovi's existing ANOVA, repeated-measures ANOVA, and t test functionality. I know that the add-on approach has been implemented previously, somehow, with the 'more tests' module. Any advice would be appreciated.

the 'moretests' approach is limited in that it can't add additional options to the UI. this is something we'd love to add; the ability of modules to augment existing analyses with additional options, however its a lot of work and not the highest priority at the moment.
