I am running into issues with Jamovi and cannot seem to solve it.
This is what is happening: IIn linear mixed models using the GAMLj module, after filling in the dependent variable and the cluster variable, I want to add the random intercept component for "Klas" (Class) under Random Effects. However, I cannot drag it into the Random Coefficients box.
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
- Reinstalled the module.
- Restarted Jamovi multiple times.
- Tried a newer version of Jamovi (but could not install the GAMLj module there).
- Searched on this forums, which suggested it might be related to the measurement level of the variable. I changed this, but the problem persists.
- Tried launching Jamovi via the debug version.
All attempts yield the exact same result. Because of this, I am unable to continue with my course. I hope someone can help me out.
GAMLj Jamovi: Cannot drag cluster variable to Random Coefficients
Re: GAMLj Jamovi: Cannot drag cluster variable to Random Coefficients
Hi,
This does sound like an issue which was addressed quite some time ago; let's start out by making sure you're using a recent version of jamovi, either 2.7 or 28 ... and let's begin by understanding why you were unable to install GAMLj; can you describe what happens?
Kind regards
Jonathon

Re: GAMLj Jamovi: Cannot drag cluster variable to Random Coefficients
Hello Jonathon,
I was using Jamovi 2.6.44, but when this problem occured I searched for a newer version. This is Jamovi 2.7.38. The only module that is installed in the basic version is GAMLj3. The module GAMLj isn't available for installing, it is not on the list.
I hope this answers your questions.
Kind regards,
Hilde

OK, that explains it. GAMLj is old and has been retired. You'll need move across to GAMLj3.
