ANOVA p-values for significant Levene's?

Post by TerryLansdown »

Hi,

Is it possible to get the p-values for when the assumptions for homogeneity are not met, i.e., Levene's is significant?

Thanks, Terry

Hi, Sorry had a re-think about this. I think the p-value you've highlighted is telling us that the assumptions of homogenity of variances are met, 0.2992 above. If this value was significant, it would be inappropriate to use the ANOVA p value stated above, assuming it was significant. In SPSS, for example, an alternative p value is provided (a more conservative one) which should be used when the assumption is not met. That's the value I'm looking for, but can't see how to obtain it using Jamovi. Apologies if my explaination isn't clear.

Thanks again,

Best wishes, Terry

ah, you mean welchs? (yeah, now i re-read your original question, i see i didn't read it properly).

welchs is available in the t-test, but we don't provide it for ANOVA at this time, but i've had a couple of requests so far, so maybe make a note that you're after this over here:

https://github.com/jamovi/jamovi/issues/499

the more attention an issue gets, the more likely it is we'll get to it.

cheers
