hmm, i'm super puzzled.
this is me trying to open a .omv or a .dta on an ipad ... it won't let me.
is there some trick, or does it behave differently for you?

Hi,
No trick, it behaves differently. The dta files do not have a question mark and are clickable. Here’s a picture:

yeah ok, this is crazy stuff. i notice it won't let you open .sav files though.
i wonder what's going on here.
can you tell me what version of iOS your ipad is running?

I tried a variety of file formats. It will let me open dta, csv and excel files.

ah! thanks so much for your help here. i've got the cloud version working such that you should be able to open any compatible file now.

Thanks, Jonathon, I confirm. This makes jamovi the best option I know to analyze data with an iPad!
