Cannot open Jamovi 1.2.16, Windows 8 (64 Bit), SONY VAIO

Cannot open Jamovi 1.2.16

I have Windows 8 (64 Bit), SONY VAIO Laptop. I have recently recovered/ refreshed my PC in a hope that Jamovi would work however even after recovering the PC, still same error. After downloading jamovi, I could open it.

I click on OPEN

I get error message: Server error

hi sandhu,

this is usually caused by a bug in windows, and at this stage we haven't been able to find a way to work around it. fortunately, it only effects a very a small number of users (less than 1 in 500), unfortunately that 1 in 500 is you :(

if you use a different computer you won't have this issue.

we're also working on a web-based version of jamovi which runs in a web-browser. this will also bypass this issue, but we're not quite ready to release that just yet.
