jamovi

Hello,

I am currently teaching an intro stats course using jamovi and one of my students is having difficulty installing the flexplot module which is required for an assignment they are working on.

They have done some basic troubleshooting steps - restarted jamovi, restarted the machine, etc. to no avail. They are using OSx Catalina. The specific error reads "Unable to access library Errno 8 nodename or servname not provided, or not known"

I am a Windows user so if there is something I'm missing for Mac please let me know, though I will note out of ~40 students this appears to be the only one having this issue (or at least the only one who has contacted me about it).

hi,

i'd suggest asking them to try a different internet connection. at a guess, their internet connection is using a "non-transparent proxy", and these connections are being blocked.

so have them try a hotspot or similar.

alternatively, they can download the module from here:

https://www.jamovi.org/library.html

and sideload it into jamovi
