Hi,
I understand that in a meta-analysis of propritons, an estimate and standard error (SE) are computed.
Is there a way to convert that standard error to standard deviation (SD)?
Let's say I have 7 studies comprised of a total of 400 patients, and my meta-analysis results are as follows:
Estimate: 0.0467
SE: 0.0105
I know there is a formula SD = SE * square root of sample size
Using the sample size of 400 patients, this gives me a SD of 0.21. This seems huuuuuuge and makes no sense. Should I instead be using the square root of the total # of studies included in the analysis?
any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
