Skewness

Hello
I am analyzing a standardized questionnaire with 8 questions/variables. One of the questions is highly skewed over whats acceptable. But when i compute all the questions into one variable who i am going to use, this variable is not skewed. Do i still have to do anything with the one variable who is skewed?
And if so, what do i have to do?
