Hi, folks. I am using JAMOVI to teach Intro to Statistics. Some of my students asked me about the possibility to install JAMOVI on ipad. Is it possible?

this is something we're working towards, but apple have made it very difficult.

so the first hurdle, is that R isn't supported under the ipad.

so our only option is the cloud version.

the cloud version does work on the ipad, however apple have placed restrictions on safari on the ipad which prevent jamovi from opening data files. so you're only able to use the examples from the data library.

the fix for this will be to allow people to open files from one-drive or similar, but i still need a month or two to implement this. so we're pretty close, but we're not quite there yet.

I tried to access cloud jamovi on an iPad using 4 different browsers (Safari, Firefox, Edge, and Chrome). Chrome didn't even manage to load the webpage, and the three others kept failing after the "starting session" animation (connection failed).
Is there anything I did wrong?

not sure. it's possible you were trying during a period of maintenance, or that there's an issue with your internet connection.

fyi, basically all web browsers on an ipad are safari ... apple doesn't allow other web browsers to ship their rendering engines, so the other web browsers are basically just skins on top of safari.

Okay, I tried again at different times, with 2 different internet connections, and it’s still the same. So, for now I’m assuming it’s incompatible with Safari for iPad.
Can anyone disconfirm my assumption? That would be great news!

ah! you're right. there is a problem under safari -- it has a slightly unusual response to content-security-policies ... i've fixed it. try again now.

Sure. Once the session has started, clicking on the 3 horizontal bars/Open/This device opens a file explorer giving access to OneDrive, Dropbox, and iCloud. I tried all of them and could open a .dta file each time.
