can I make an option in the UI visible or not depending on the value of another option? Something like "enable" but making the option invisible/visible?

no, we don't support this functionality (i don't think). what's your use-case?

as a general rule, hiding options is bad practice (it confuses people "where's option X gone!?, or why isn't option Y here?"), but it can be appropriate in some situations.
