Jamovi won't open (Connection lost)

Hi,
I just installed the latest version of jamovi (0.8.1.12) onto a Windows 10 computer and get the following message whenever I try to open it:
Connection lost
The processing engine has ended unexpectedly.
This jamovi window will now close down. Sorry for the inconvenience
Any idea what might be the issue? Thanks.

hi,
can you tell me the full version of windows that you're using, i.e. windows 10, build 43523.
and whether you're running windows in a language other than english.

I'm using Windows 10, build 15063.786 in English.

I downloaded the earlier version but still get the same message when I open it.

Hi,
Can you tell me where you have installed it to?
It's possible there's an issue with the program path containing international characters.
Also, are you running windows in a language other than english?

Oddly, I can't see where Windows Visual C++ is installed (looking for it in a search doesn't bring it up). However, I do know it has been installed because if I go to the uninstaller in Control Panel, it lists it as a program which has been installed.
The Windows I'm using is only in English.
