Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
Question: Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
Re: Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
not sure what you mean ... could you elaborate?
Re: Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
Is there a way to include the variable descriptions, such as "This is the dependent variable.", in any sort of exported file.
Re: Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
.omv files and .sav files will save the description (and recover them when opening).

Re: Is it possible to export jamovi's user-created variable-descriptions to a file?
Thanks. I'm seeing that a .sav file will sometimes work (but only if the jamovi variable-names happen to obey SPSS variable-naming rules; otherwise exporting produces an error: "a provided name contains an illegal character.")

i think this is improved in the latest version of readstat, and so you should see an improvement in our next release.

Note: Using jamovi to export data as csv is a little more problematic than I thought (and also this export-as-SPSS issue still hasn't been fixed). However, using write.csv in Rj seems to work as a work-around for exporting as csv. See https://github.com/jamovi/jamovi/issues/1356
