How to get total statistics from a group of questions

Post by arnithorri »

Hi
I am doing a data analysis of a 4 point likert scale survey and I am not used to Jamovi. The questions are 36 in total, 6 about safety knowledge, 15 about safety opinion and 15 about safety habits. I want to see if there is a difference in two groups, students that had laboratory safety training (n=53) vs those who did not get safety training (n =37).

I have all the data in Jamovi but when I try to use the descriptives it will only show me the difference in each question but I want to see the difference in each group of questions Knowledge, Opinion and Habits....

1. E.g. how can I compare 2 groups in 6 questions - get a total comparison

2. What test do you recommend me to do, to see if there is significant difference between groups - chi, t-test ?

Thank you!
Best regards

FYI: It usually helps if you can post your jmv file, or at least a version that contains data similar to your actual data.

Thanks for your reply. I attached the folder with this reply

I want to compare e.g. öryggishópur (students that took safety training) vs Viðmið (students that got no training) in column 7 (Hópur) for the 6 questions about habits (Qk1 - Qk6). I want to see the total means, stdev for each group and then finally do a test (t-test/chi) if there is a significant difference between these two groups of students.

Thank you
Best regards
Arni

Hi. I think this might be what you want (below and attached).
