Jamovi for Windows on ARM?

Post by Sasmitha »

With the release of R support for Windows on ARM, will there be a Jamovi for Windows on ARM in the near future? I'm asking because I have my eyes on the new Surface Pro with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus chip, which has an ARM architecture. Thanks in advance!

hi,

yes, we're definitely keeping an eye developments in the R on windows arm space ... but things look to be in fairly early stages presently.

but yes, once R on arm has matured, and all the CRAN packages we rely on become available for arm, then we'll be able to build a version for arm windows.

Thanks for the prompt reply, Jonathon. Until that happens, will the x86 version of Jamovi run on Windows on ARM through the emulation layer?

i expect so ... i can't think of any reason why it wouldn't ... but we've not tested it yet.

you'd have the fallback of the cloud version.

Hi Jonathan,

I tried running Jamovi on Windows on ARM (WARM) but it gave me the following error message. What does it mean?

Engine process terminated Exit code: 3221225727

could you run the process monitor, take logs of when this error occurs, and then send them through to us?

the logs may contain sensitive information, so i wouldn't share them publicly.

email us at contact <at> jamovi.org
