jamovi

Dear all,

I tried to run jamovi on MacOS 10.12.3 (16D32)

As the title says: If I start jamovi, the main window opens briefly just to crash with the message

"Connection lost

The processing engine has ended unexpectedly.
This jamovi window will now close down. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you could report your experiences to the jamovi team, that would be appreciated."

After running it from the terminal, I got these error codes:

Are you running the latest version of jamovi (0.7.2.1)?

It's the version I downloaded today from jamovi.org, and the dmg was jamovi-0.7.2.1.dmg. So, yes, I do.

Can you check whether the previous version works for you. You can download that one from: https://www.jamovi.org/downloads/jamovi-0.7.1.6.dmg.

Downloaded 0.7.0.0 and that version does not crash.

I have just downloaded MacOS jamovi for the first time and it crashes with the same codes just reported. Not a fluke on his system.

Thanks for letting us know! I reverted the download link for the MacOS version to the previous version (0.7.0.6, you can download it here: https://www.jamovi.org/downloads/jamovi-0.7.0.6.dmg). We'll work on a fix for the 0.7.2 version of jamovi

sorry for the inconvenience. the new 0.7.2.2 fixes the issue:

it hurts a bit when your shiny new release doesn't work as expected!

Same crash on Windows 10 with the same message, both for version 0.7.2.1 and 0.7.0.0.

on windows it would be a different issue. there's some dll interference issue which affects a small number of users which we haven't got to the bottom of.

could you run, at the dos prompt, the command, and send us the output?
