I recently noticed in an interview ( at http://blog.efpsa.org/2017/03/23/introd ... ower-of-r/) that you are looking to develop a funding model for jamovi. Out of curiosity, have you considered affiliating with an organization such as Numfocus, Software in the Public Interest or the Software Freedom Conservancy to handle donations / non-profit overhead? What Julia, NumPy, et al are doing looks like a model that might fit your needs pretty well and would still allow you to provide paid services separately.
