Re: installation of jamovi

I get around this problem by downloading the *.zip file rather than the *.exe

Re: R2 and adjusted R2 for simple linear regression

As I recall, R² reflects the proportion of the variance accounted for in your sample of participants, but the R²adj is for the population . I forget the exact formula, but the adjustment makes a more conservative estimate of this than the unadjusted R², and so the value you see in your analysis shou...

Re: Help with understanding non-parametric tests

"... count the number of hares it beats " - ha - I like that encapsulation! As I recall, the rank biserial correlation does indeed reflect the ratio of participants in group#1 beating participants in group #2. It does this by ranking the scores of all your participants in both your groups ...

Re: Module outliers (first attempt)

This looks great! I particularly like the use of the histogram to visualise what these outliers look like - that should help students understand the concept better. Are the cut-offs typed in by the user - or can people choose from pre-selected options e.g. 1.96 / 3.29 etc... +1 for the ability to sp...

Re: seolmatrix

What I've found is that many institutional computers have app blockers that may allow core aspects of jamovi to run while blocking other aspects. I've found that this blocking is especially likely to affect modules. Moreover, I've found seolmatrix to be more affected than any other jamovi module I ...

Re: Correlation

I have been playing around with jamovi since my earlier post, I have created two filters , one for online and the other for on-campus. i didn't realise I had to have one inactive while the other was active. Is this correct what I have done? Does this mean when I have the filter set as active for on...

Re: Correlation

Hi bobafett Thank you so much for your reply. I have created a filter as you suggested. But when I go to correlations matrix in the left hand column it only has the student_group data to pit in the right hand box. Sorry , useless at this sort of thing. I tried to create a second filter for on- camp...

Re: Correlation

You can use a filter to separate these groups and run separate correlations e.g. for your student_group IV, if 1 = on-campus and 2 = online, then creating a filter that states "student_Group==1" would mean only the on-campus students would be included in any analysis you are about to do. h...
