GAMlj no longer works on v2.6.23

Post by ProtonEnergy »

I have installed v2.6.23 and added the GAMLj3 module.

However now the previous GAMlj module is not working properly. Specifically, things seem to work as normal until the random effects section, where neither click and drag or "select -> add" functions work at all.

Is this a known problem and if so is there any solution?

nb: it is necessary that both versions of the GAMLj module function properly and can be run simultaneously so that previously saved analyses using GAMLj can be correctly checked and replicated.

Hi
I am sorry but gamlj legacy (version < 2.6.) it is not compatible with jamovi 2.6.23. gamlj legacy latest version is more than 3 year old, and it cannot be updated to be compatible with the latest versions of jamovi. That is why GAMLj3 exists: because it takes advantage of all the new features of jamovi (developed in the last three or more years). gamlj legacy will be removed soon from jamovi library.

If one really needs to compare old gamlj analyses with GAMLj3 results, one can still open a legacy gamlj omv file in jamovi 2.6.*. It shows the results as they were originally obtained. This allows you to check and replicate the old analyses using GAMLj3. You cannot change the old analyses (at least for the mixed models, the other models work alright), but why would you do that if you are checking and replicate them?

If one really needs to run new analyses in both the legacy and the current version of GAMLj, one can install two versions of jamovi ( the legacy and the current) and so make all the comparisons one wishes.

I am sorry for the inconvenience.
