Hi there
I've been using jamovi for a long time now, and have implemented it in all our undergrad teaching. I'm currently on 2.7.4 on windows. I'm a big fan - but - in the last year, the glitchiness seems to have been increasing - we've had students simply not able to run analyses in GAMLj3 (both on windows and mac) seemingly at random, sometimes but not always needing a reinstall, and it isn't limited just to mac or pc. Today I'm trying to do some simple recoding of variables and the function button just won't work (or it will, once, on opening a file fresh after creating a copy). I'm having to (bleargh) go to SPSS so that I can give a student replicable code because they can't use r.
I'm interested in knowing if others are seeing similar odd issues increasing over the last year, or if this is just a me problem. I don't even know where to start to problem solve this - I do have pretty much everything in the jamovi library installed.
Usability decline, or just me?
Re: Usability decline, or just me?
the introduction of a new 'series', such as the 2.7, typically have some small regressions. that's why we distinguish between 'solid' and 'current'. you'll find the fx button issue was fixed in the 2.7.5.
bugs do occur in software development, and when issues arise, we move to fix them pretty quickly.
what you describe with GAMLj3 is less clear to me what might be going on ... there is a bug where users with international characters in their names, on older versions of windows, sometimes have issues with modules. but that's a short-coming of windows rather than jamovi.
