Feature suggestions for the Modules section:
I would like to suggest a few improvements to the Modules section that could enhance transparency and usability:
1. Module release notes
It would be very helpful to display release notes for module updates directly in jamovi, or at least provide a link to the corresponding GitHub page where these notes are available.
2. Update visibility for installed modules
Currently, available updates are shown only in the Available modules section, but not in the Installed modules section. Showing update information in both places would improve discoverability and reduce the risk of missing updates.
3. Show/Hide option for installed modules
The Show/Hide option is currently available only for modules in the Available section. It would be more consistent and practical to offer the same option in the Installed modules section.
4. Notification for outdated modules
At the moment, users are not notified when they are using an outdated module. A brief, non-intrusive notification in such cases could help users keep their analyses up to date.
5. Ordering of modules
With the growing number of available modules, it is not clear how they are currently ordered, as they do not appear to be sorted alphabetically or by release date. Introducing a clear sorting logic, or allowing users to choose a sorting method, might improve navigation.
6. Module attribution for analyses and plots
Some modules add new analyses, plots, or both, but it is not always obvious which module a given analysis or plot belongs to. A clear visual indicator showing the originating module at a glance would greatly improve usability.
Thank you for considering these suggestions.
I have filed this also as a github ticket, as I was not sure if this forum or github is the better place to post my feature suggestions https://github.com/jamovi/jamovi/issues/1755
