jamovi desktop keeps crashing on me error Engine process terminated with exit code 255

I have a class that uses jamovi and I have a 2023 HP (windows) I am the only classmate that the program doesn't work for at all.

The program starts up and then crashes. The error message vanishes in half a sec, took me about 15 tries taking a picture when it crashed to try and see the error.

any ideas?

hi,

figuring out what's going on in these situations usually requires a forensic deep dive, and is tricky for us to do without physical access to the machine. your best bet is probably to use the cloud version:

ok, perhaps there are settings that need to be changed? If that is viable for this issue in the first place.

I will check with my professor to see fi the cloud version is viable for the class.
