save factor scores, regressions residuals, etc. ?

Discuss the jamovi platform, possible improvements, etc.

Hi,

I just start de discover jamovi and it looks promising. Thanks for the work.

I search how to save for instance factor scores, regression residuals, etc. In survey research which I do, for short, you have a given problem and you operationalise it into questionnaire items. For the analysis you have to reverse the process and bundle the respondents' answers again. Which you might do with a principal component analysis, for instance. And then you use the dimensions again in other procedures (or programmes).

So, my question is: can you save factor scores, regression residuals by case ?
If this is not implemented is there a planning to do so ?

Thanks in advnce,
ftr

hi,

at the moment, there's no way for an analysis to 'generate' data. i.e. to populate a column in the data set with, say, residuals.

but this is something we're keen to add, hopefully in the next 6 months.

kind regards

As soon as possible will be the best to give jamovi a good ranking among other packages. The job that has be done is very nice. Congratulations

Hi,

Please could we have an update on this? I too am looking for the ability to save component scores from a PCA, as well as standardised residuals.

Best wishes,

sorry, no real progress here. but thanks for bringing it up.

you're right, it is a "must have" feature.

Hi,
It would be helpful to have an approximate date for the update that will integrate the "must have" feature.

What do other user say about it ?

Hi jonathon,

For our course of multivariate statistics with about 250 students we would also be really thankful if you implemented this feature for summer 2019. We missed that feature this semester ;-)
We will also think about some other features missing for our objectives (e.g. the possibility of setting orthogonal factors in CFAs), maybe I will be able to contribute too.

Best regards and good job again,
Folax

thanks folax,

although, you need to be careful referencing seasons when corresponding with residents of oceania :)
