Why? Variable has no loading on any factor

Hi,

I am wondering if this is some kind of bug, of me just missing something.
In an exploratory factor analysis (happend if I remember correct the other day with a confirmatory as well) one of the variables has no value at any of the factors.


The strange variable BFIV2 should be on the same factor as BFI7n_INV.
(Yes, I know, I am analyzing some Big Five and should probably use a confirmatory factor analysis)

Hi, Olaf.
Looking at the Uniqueness (0.881) of the variable BFIV2, and use the complement rule for the Communality (0.119) it can be said that if there was a single value for factor 5, it could be at most equal to 0.345.
Try reducing the Factor Loadings value you have in "Hide loadings below".

Hi Maurizio,

thank you. It was indeed "hide factor loadings below ..." Once I changed that I can see the factor loading, in this case -.217
